Our Statistics

Here are some relevant statistics regarding refractive surgery at Pacific Laser Eye Centre.

The eyes considered here are divided into three categories according to the strength of glasses correction needed before surgery. Myopia up to 6 diopters is considered “low”, above 6 diopters and up to 10 diopters is “moderate”, and more than 10 diopters is considered “high”. We have treated patients with up to 27 diopters of myopia. All levels of astigmatism are included in these patient groups. We have treated patients with up to 7 diopters of astigmatism.

The first line of the table shows the percentage of eyes in each category which were able to see 20/20 or better without glasses or contact lenses, six months after surgery. The second line shows the eyes with 20/25 vision or better. The third line shows the eyes with 20/40 vision or better (good enough to drive). The fourth line is for 20/80 or better vision.
